I flew over the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Experience of the lifetime! – EP. 138
EDITORIAL SUMMARY
This episode steps away from the motorcycle for a Super Cub flight over Botswana’s Okavango Delta. It places the aerial excursion within OnHerBike’s ongoing Africa, Round The World series, following a solo journey that began in Australia.
About this film
Recorded in October 2021, the 13-minute film centres on the view from above the delta and the experience of seeing its landscape from the air. The Okavango Delta is known for its wilderness and wildlife areas and is recognised as one of Africa’s seven natural wonders as well as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The episode’s focus is the flight itself, rather than a stretch of motorcycle riding.
The journey
OnHerBike began a solo trip around the world in April 2017, leaving Australia on a BMW F800GS. The journey was named “Are We There Yet,” reflecting an open-ended trip without a set final destination or duration. Here, the route gives way to a flying safari above the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The creator describes watching life unfold across the delta from the aircraft as a memorable experience, and credits her friend Heiko with the opportunity to fly.
What to expect
