LANDING IN SANTIAGO CHILE SOUTH AMERICA! – ep1

Pedro Mota 8:55 September 2017

EDITORIAL SUMMARY

This opening South America episode follows Pedro Mota’s arrival in Santiago, Chile, after leaving New Zealand. It marks the next stage of his around-the-world motorcycle journey, with his Honda Transalp still to come and plans for what lies ahead beginning in the city.

About this film

Pedro has been travelling with his Honda Transalp, nicknamed Alp, for more than two years and has ridden through over thirty countries. His journey has already crossed Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, Russia, East Asia and Australia. This film begins the South American chapter of that ongoing trip and is listed as the first episode in the series. Its focus is the transition between continents: arriving in a new city, waiting for the motorcycle, and getting ready to continue the adventure on the road.

The journey

The episode opens with a flight from New Zealand to Santiago and a smooth landing in Chile. Pedro is there while waiting for his motorcycle and starts working out where to go next. He books a hostel in the city centre, at Plaza de Armas, and reflects on the different atmosphere and South American feel. The film sets up the next part of the journey with Santiago as the point of arrival and preparation, before Pedro and Alp set out to explore the continent together.

What to expect

  • The arrival in Santiago at the start of the South America chapter.
  • Pedro’s plans taking shape while he waits for his Honda Transalp.
  • A city-centre stay near Plaza de Armas before the journey continues.
