Got2Go 18:10 April 2022

EDITORIAL SUMMARY

A month-long motorcycle road trip covers 2,500 kilometres across Oman. The film combines desert, mountain and coastal landscapes with visits to markets and an introduction to aspects of Omani culture.

About this film

Part of the OMAN OVERLAND series, this 18-minute documentary follows a motorcycle journey through the Sultanate. The rider travels on a rented Yamaha Ténéré 700 and visits places presented as among Oman’s remote and notable destinations. Alongside the landscapes, the film offers practical context for a road trip, including a segment on religion in Oman and stops at local markets.

The journey

The itinerary includes the Rub Al Khali Desert, Wahiba Sands and a desert camp, as well as Oman’s coastal road and mountains in the north. Market visits bring the journey to Sinaw’s camel market and Nizwa’s animal market, before the film turns to Muscat and its surroundings. Across these stops, the documentary sets desert terrain, coastline and high mountains alongside encounters with traditional culture and hospitality.
