JURA MOUNTAINS: A ride from SWITZERLAND to FRANCE – KICK OFF to my new adventure

Got2Go 13:45 December 2021

EDITORIAL SUMMARY

This opening ride in the DESTINATION HOME series begins close to home, in the Jura Mountains between Switzerland and France. It follows a motorcycle route through the Swiss Jura and across the border, setting the journey in motion.

About this film

Got2Go frames the film as the start of a new trip: rather than heading first to distant countries, the ride begins in familiar surroundings and moves toward the unknown. The broader series follows a motorcycle journey through Europe, with Switzerland, France, Spain, Andorra and Italy named among its destinations. The journey took place in July and August 2021. The motorcycle featured is a Yamaha Ténéré 700 named FOX.

The journey

The route begins in Switzerland, heading through Zürich in the direction of Bern before reaching the Jura Mountains. From Solothurn, the ride continues toward Weissenstein mountain pass, then through Moutier and past Bellelay Abbey. The road carries on through the Swiss Jura to the Switzerland–France border. On the French side, the film reaches Chenecey-Buillon and the Historic Hotel Gervais. These named stops give the opening episode a clear progression from the rider’s Swiss starting point to a destination in France, with the mountain region linking the two.

What to expect

  • A home-starting motorcycle journey through the Jura Mountains.
  • Swiss stops including Solothurn, Weissenstein, Moutier and Bellelay Abbey.
  • A border crossing and arrival in Chenecey-Buillon, France.
