About this film
Part of Itchy Boots’ Season 5, set in Southern Africa, the film centres on a competitive motorcycle ride rather than a general travel route. Its focus is the rally’s Super Special: a defined 100-kilometre stage that determines the time qualification for the following Stage 1. At 21 minutes and 26 seconds, the episode documents one stage of the rally and its transition from convoy travel to racing.
The journey
The ride takes place at the Kalahari Rally in South Africa. The stage begins after a short convoy, then the riders can start racing over the 100-kilometre course. Its role as a time qualifier links this opening competition to Stage 1, making the Super Special both a riding challenge in its own right and part of the rally’s progression. The film stays with that stage-focused experience, from the convoy approach to the start of the race.
