5 Countries and 700km in One Day.. (Old Custom Honda Transalp 600 Traveling Europe)

Pedro Mota 29:00 April 2022

EDITORIAL SUMMARY

This film follows a 700-kilometre motorcycle ride through five countries in a single day. Riding an older custom Honda Transalp 600, Pedro Mota leaves Switzerland and the Alps behind on a journey through Germany, France, Luxembourg and Belgium.

About this film

Part of the Europe – Netherlands to Portugal series, this 29-minute episode centres on a long day of cross-border travel. Its route carries the ride away from a stay with family in Switzerland and through several neighbouring countries. Along the way, the journey also pauses at the Roman ruins of Agusta Raurica, adding a historical stop to a day otherwise defined by distance and onward travel. The film keeps the focus on the ride and the places encountered en route.

The journey

After leaving the Swiss Alps, the ride continues through Germany, France, Luxembourg and Belgium, completing the five-country itinerary described for the day. Before crossing the Rhine, Mota visits the ruins of Agusta Raurica. There he meets Oswaldo, who is riding a 1995 Transalp and follows the channel. The stop brings two Transalps together before the journey resumes across the river and onward through the European route. The film’s central thread is the challenge of covering 700 kilometres while passing through national borders, with the archaeological visit and roadside meeting forming distinct moments along the way.

What to expect

  • A 700-kilometre ride completed in one day
  • Travel through Switzerland, Germany, France, Luxembourg and Belgium
  • A visit to Agusta Raurica and a meeting with another Transalp rider
