Is That Honda an Africa Twin? (Best Steak in Portugal Posta Mirandesa Bragança)
EDITORIAL SUMMARY
This episode follows the Trans Euro Trail ride towards Bragança through Portugal’s north-east. Forest tracks, old bridges and rough riding sections shape a journey that also pauses for a substantial serving of posta Mirandesa.
About this film
Pedro Mota rides Atlas, a custom Honda Transalp 600 whose appearance prompts strangers to mistake it for an Africa Twin. The film belongs to the Europe – Netherlands to Portugal series and runs for 39 minutes. Its focus is the onward motorcycle journey, with the bike’s distinctive look and a traditional Portuguese meal forming part of the day’s story.
The journey
The ride continues in the direction of Bragança, crossing the north-east corner of Portugal through forests and past older inland bridges. Some of the bridges are Roman-built, adding a historical thread to the route. The trail also passes in and out of Spain and includes rough enduro riding sections. A castle appears along the way, and the day concludes when the riders run out of daylight. In Bragança, the food stop is posta Mirandesa, described as a massive steak and a typical Portuguese dish.
