Onherbike’s film is part of an ongoing round-the-world motorcycle journey that began in April 2017, when the rider left Australia on a BMW F800GS. The journey was named “Are We There Yet,” reflecting an open-ended trip without a fixed final destination or duration. Here, the route brings together riding, exploration and time with friends, with the Carpathians providing the setting for much of the episode. Near the end, the rider recounts a small roll down a hill that had happened months earlier, adding a personal note to the travel story.
The journey
Friends from Poland join the rider in Odessa for a week on the road. After exploring the coast, the group heads to Moldova to visit Cricova, known as the “Underground City of Wine.” The remainder of the episode comes from the Carpathian Mountains in Romania, Ukraine and Poland. The sequence links a coastal ride and a visit in Moldova with travel through a mountain region spanning three countries, keeping the focus on the journey rather than a single destination.
