About this film
Part of the Canada, Round The World series, the film follows the journey’s transition to a new continent. The trip began in April 2017 as a solo ride around the world on a BMW F800GS, under the name “Are We There Yet.” With the motorcycle not yet available, this instalment focuses on the first experiences in Canada rather than a riding leg. The shipment delay and other matters to handle on arrival shape this pause in the ongoing journey.
The journey
The episode begins with arrival in Alberta, where friends Tineke and Bruce host the traveller. Canmore, Banff, Bow Valley and the Rocky Mountains provide the setting for this introduction to Canada. The motorcycle, known as Chillie, was being shipped from Africa to Canada, and its delivery had been delayed by two months. The film is one stage in the larger round-the-world trip, with riding set to resume in later episodes.
